Gradings are conducted 3 times a year and occur primarily in March/April, July and December to coincide with the main school holidays. Gradings are conducted by Club Officials at the St Bede's & St Joseph's Catholic College, Highgate, Bradford, BD9 - please access the sports hall via Heaton Park Road, BD9 5QA. Certificates and belts are presented at these formal events increasing students confidence / esteem and provide a networking opportunity to make new friends.

The order of the belts are: White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue/White, Blue, Purple, Brown/White, Brown and Black belt.

Once a students reaches Shodan (First degree black belt) they are able to progress further. Seniors follow the dan grade system e.g. Nidan, Shodan, Sandan, Yondan, Godan etc and Juniors follow the Gold Tab system until they reach the age of adulthood when they transfer on to the Senior training path.

Onna Ju-Jitsu Club provides a structured approach to learning following a syllabus approved by the British Ju-Jitsu Association . The ONNA Syllabus consists of both Junior and Senior syllabuses depending on the age and ability of student. Generally if a student is under the age of 16 years they are considered to be a Junior, however the coach has discretion on the actual syllabus taught after assessing the student's ability and considering group dynamics.
